Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety The variety is suitable for producing easy-drinking reds but without the pedigree required for aging, due to its unfortunate tendency to oxidize prematurely. When blended with the superior Callet grape, however, it has the potential for more structured wines. The Binissalem sub-region is the main DO to use Manto Negro.
