History The vine Vespaiola is native to the pedemontana area of ​​the high Vicenza, which has its reference in the village of Breganze. The origins of this variety and the period to which it dates its cultivation remain uncertain. The Acerbi reports its presence in the Bassano and Marostica area in 1825. The Vespaiola name, as is the case for other similar cases (Vespolina), refers to the preference of wasps for ripe berries and sugars in the periods close to the harvest.
