Castellare di Castellina Merlot Poggio ai Merli 2015
Tuscany showed to be a fantastic ground for Merlot vines, with renowned wines all over the world like Masseto. This Merlot in purity of Castellare, thanks to the strategic position of the vines, has a unique character you may find only in the best International Merlot wines. And, once again, mainly for its elegance. Since the first vintage has been defined a monument to excellent wines.

Colour

Deep ruby red color.

Bouquet

The nose reveals itself as intense, clean, pleasing, refined with aromas of plum, black cherry and rhubarb followed by aromas of blackberry, currant, dried violet, licorice, tobacco, vanilla, nutmeg and pepper and hints of china.

Flavour

The mouth has a good correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and pleasing roundness, however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense flavors and good tannins. The finish is very persistent with long and good flavors of black cherry, plum and currant.

Pairing

In general it is easy to match with red meats. In particular it is great with liver and wild boar meat.
