Colour

Garnet red with a deep tint.

Bouquet

The nose, beautiful freshness, offer a palette of ripe fruit, supported by notes of licorice, tobacco and spices.

Flavour

The attack is smooth and fruity. The wine evolves on a rich and generous mouth, with lots of vinous and volume. The tannins are silky and suave with a good freshness. The finish is long and elegant, with a beautiful back fruit and a nice minerality. Although already pleasant, this wine promises a great guard.

History Purchased by the rear-grandparents of Alain Moueix in 1931, Château Fonroque is the cradle of his family in Bordeaux. Long exploited by Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix in Libourne, Château Fonroque is managed by Alain Moueix since 2001.
Origin Saint Emillion (France)
Soil composition Limestone plateau and coast clay and limestone.
Vinification Certified organic farming since 2006 and biodynamic agriculture since 2008. Meticulous sorting of grapes on arrival at the winery. Getting tanks depending on the terroir, age of the vines and grapes in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. soft and slow extractions, adapted to the potential of each tank.
Ageing Once the malolactic fermentation, the wines are aged in new barrels and 30% in barrels of wine and more than 70%. After 18 months the wine is bottled.
