Stems from a rigorous selection of only Sangiovese grapes in the vineyard, where they strictly comply with all the features needed to enhance this ancient vine: the ideal altitude, soil drainage and exposure to the southwest. It 's a well-structured wine, elegant, balanced, with intense aromas and finesse.

Admission fruity with plum and blackberry. Floral with hints of violet and wild rose.

Flavour

Warm, elegant, spicy with crisp notes of tobacco, black pepper, leather, jus de viande and cardamomo.In mouth is powerful but balanced, with the right dose of alcohol and freshness which are in harmony with polyols and tannin sweet, delicate, round and wide.

Origin Tenuta di Castel Giocondo, Montalcino. Altitude: 250/450 m s.l.m. - Exposure: south, southwest.
Climate The season was marked by a regular weather conditions, with a rainy spring and cooler than previous, which led to a delay of vegetation, with a budding postponed by a week than the average. In May and June, the nights were cool and minimum temperatures were very low. The significant temperature difference between night and day favored the rich flavors in the grapes. In summer the temperatures have stabilized below the seasonal average and only in the last two weeks have increased. The sun and the night wind in early September in addition to the cool nights and temperate favored highly concentrated and elegant wine, with tannins and seeds matured gradually and progressively during the season.
