Veronelli 3 red stars molise wines

The small Molise region has not yet found a way to make the most of its potential. The climate, soil and altitude are ideal for growing vines, but high production costs, low profitability and one of the lowest yields in the entire country keep people away from the vineyards. Production is also very low and in 2009 amounted to around 319,000 hl of wine, obtained in particular from Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Aglianico, with some Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Barbera, as well as Ciliegiolo and Bovale Grande. The white grape varieties include mainly Trebbiano Toscano and Abruzzese, Malvasia Bianca di Candia, as well as Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Bombino Bianco and Moscato Bianco.
