Nino Negri's very famous flagship wine is made from a selection of the best grapes and only in the best years. 100% Nebbiolo grapes, picked by hand in the most acclaimed parcels of Valtellina Superiore, after natural drying for 3 months, are vinified by the red wine method, with a long maceration.

Colour

Intense red garnet.

Bouquet

Refreshing nose with balsamic notes of mint and eucalyptus intermingled with hints of crusty bread, liquorice root, sun-dried hay, cocoa powder, black pepper, prunes and dried figs.

Flavour

The richly extracted, vigorous palate exhibits vanilla aromas and pleasantly satisfying forward tannins.

Good with red meats, game, strong cheeses.

History Negri was the first Valtellina wine house, in 1956, to produce Sfursat with a natural drying of the grapes. 5 Stelle is its most prestigious Sfursat.
Origin Sub-zones of Inferno and Grumello and of France, well exposed south-facing terraces at 400-450 metres altitude.

Vinification The wine, after a stay of 20 days in stainless steel.
Ageing Aged in French barriques of Alliers and Nevers where it remained for 16 months. After blending, there follows a rest in bottle for 3 months before it is put on the market in December.
