Philipponnat Champagne Le Leon Extra Brut 2006
It is in the best areas of the Philipponnat vineyard that are home to the cuvée parcels of the Maison. The grapes selected for processing the Léon come from the historic grounds of the Maison, classified as Premier Cru and Grands Cru. These white wines obtained from milled black grapes are aged for at least seven years in the cellar. Their extra-brut dosage allows them to express all the complexity and aromatic richness.

Perlage

Fine and creamy bollicos, persistent ring.

Colour

Dresses of brilliant gold color.

Bouquet

A powerful nose combining the notes of ripe citric fruits, cocoa and spice pan that remembers the fire of wood.

Flavour

A good structure with a creamy attack and a length in the mouth intense and greedy. This vintage of soft nature features citrus notes, white pepper, sweet paprika and wild strawberries, typical of the minerality of Ay territory.

Pairing

Creating an elegant arrangement with seafood and iodized fish, this wine also forms sublime alliances with Bellota or Cecina ham, and perfectly accompanies the roast lamb, roe deer and washed crusty cheeses.
