Areas of cultivation The macabeum is one of the most cultivated white grapes in Spain. It is present mainly in the northern part of the Iberian state and has also been introduced there in the sub-Pyrenees of France.

Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety The resulting wines have low acidity and floral feelings.
Notes It is one of the grapes used to produce the Cava, the famous spumante spanish. It is also cultivated in Rioja, one of the most renowned wine regions in Spain, where it is also known as Viura.
