The name 'Gineprone' refers to the aromatic herb called Juniper. It reveals how this Chianti wine from the hills of Siena reminds the consumer of all the herbs and spices typical of the Mediterranean undergrowth. Complex and full-bodied but also fruity, Gineprone is Montalcino's version of the Chianti wine that has made Tuscany famous worldwide.

History 'Gineprone' owes its name to a large specimen of juniper on the ground near the vineyard.
Origin Montalcino (Siena).
Vinification Fermentation on the skins for 10-12 days at a controlled temperature of less than 28°C in low and wide 150-hl steel tanks, specially made to extract tannins and colour gently.
Ageing Ageing takes place in the historic Col d'Orcia company's cellar for a few months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, the same ones used for Brunello and Riserva. This is followed by a bottle ageing period of about 4 months.
