产区 Roscetto is one of those rare Italian grapes that is grown in a single place and made by a single producer and is not produced anywhere else in the world: Riccardo Cotarella of Falesco, Montefiascone, a town in northeastern Lazio about 100 km from Rome.
历史 Its origins, apparently, derive from France and closely linked to the time when Viterbo, in 1257, was a papal site. Since then, it is present in the area, as evidenced by some documents of the epoch and of the following centuries, which list some Lazio wines made with the Roscetto grapes. Studies on the DNA of the vine have, however, shown that its origins derive from a family of Greek grapes, and its name seems to be related to the color of its peel that, during maturation, changes from green to yellow to Assume a unique shade of pink.
识別葡萄品种特征 分类 The Roscetto has a medium sized bunch with a medium and large leaf, thick, very thick, intense yellowish skin, which, as we said, with maturation tends to a slightly darker color.
特色酒 The wine produced with Roscetto has a rich, gold color in the glass, has a heady, appley perfume that fade pretty quickly into something fairly neutral with some buttery toast notes. It is rich and full-bodied on the palate with good acidity and a creamy texture. There are ripe apple, buttery toast, lime peel and toasted nut flavors with some vanilla.
笔记 It is a grape that undergoes the attack of the noble mold, the botritys cinerea, able to give in particular vintage sweet wines of great intensity and freshness.
