Egon Muller

The historically important winery is located in the municipality Wiltingen (Saar area) in the German wine-growing area Moselle . The origin goes back to a donation to the monastery of St. Mary's in 700th The monastery also operate in the following vineyards in the area of ​​today's famous Scharzhofberg situation. In the year 1037 is in a charter of the core area of ​​the current confirmed Scharzhofes as property. In the nomenclature of goods of the monastery, the name "Scharz" was first mentioned in 1340. After secularization in Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) the estate was auctioned in 1797. Through marriage a part of it was in 1837 owned by Felix Müller (1810-1888). Under his son Egon Müller I. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the famous position Scharzhofberg and an additional four acres in the exclusive possession of the estate located position Brown clutch . It is almost exclusively grown Riesling (95%).

The winery is a member of VDP (Association of German VDP), or the prestigious Association PFV (Primum Familiae Vini).
