Lungarotti San Giorgio 2018
A wine with ample, solid structure and very intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The aroma releases notes of cassis and bilberry and persistent plum jam, elegant, light woody note with a background of cinnamon, cocoa and balsamic notes. A decidedly concentrated, dense, pulpy opening with ripe and enveloping tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Deep ruby with intense purple nuances.

Intense, complex and ample, it reveals hints of red jam and sweet spices. The finish has a pleasant balsamic touch on a lightly mentholated background.

Powerful structure with a pronounced hint of red fruit; great concentration and harmony. Juicy with dense, warm tannins; very long finish, pleasantly fresh.

Pairing

It pairs well with roasted red meat, game and venison as well as spicy cheeses.

历史 It bears Giorgio Lungarotti's signature because, with his constant desire to experiment, he wanted to try this then-unusual grape, creating the first 'Superumbrian' in 1977. The label bears St. George and the dragon, taken from the famous Raphael painting in the Louvre, in homage to the traditional feast of the saint on 23 April, when in Torgiano, even today, propitiatory bonfires are lit in the vineyards with the waste from pruning.
Location Torgiano (Perugia).
土地的组成 The Cabernet vineyard has pebbles with a medium mix and tends towards limestone on a tufa subsoil. The Sangiovese is from the Monticchiolo vineyard, with clayey layers alternating with sandy fringes in the lower part of the hillside.
