It seems to have been known since the tenth century BC and that some emperors, including Nerone and Trajan, settled in the noblest area of this vine, Affile, their villas and their vineyards. The first written document dates back to 1600, by Rutilio Scotti, with a description of the variety and its medicinal properties. |

The Cesane variety of Affile produces wines rich in alcohol, ruby-colored with tendency to garnet with age. The olfactory range is mild and delicately scented with berries, with blueberries and more. There is a spicy and floral vein with violet shades. The palate is well-structured and solid, with tannins and bitter aftertaste that contrasts the delicacy of the nose. |
