Chateau Mont-Redon

In the mid of XVIII century, Mont-Redon is acquired by a noble, Joseph Ignace d'Astier, a lawyer of Avignon, who became the property of the descendants Mathieu Astier. Anselme Mathieu, who called himself "Marquis of Mont-Redon", manages hte property until the death of his mother, Claire Mathieu. At the same time, in 1866, phylloxera destroyed the vineyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

In 1923, Mont-Redon passed into the hands of Henri Plantin. The new owner seeks to combine the 2.5 hectares of land, sparsely, who inherited. He didn't hesitate to plant vines on the vast rocky plateau and wooded. Driven by the same passion for their craft, always looking for quality terroir for the most suitable varieties, the descendants of Henry Plantin continue his work of investigation and expansion.

For four generations in the heart of the vineyards over the centuries, our family daily enriches his experience in meeting its quality requirements. Today, Mont-Redon covers 186 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 100 hectares of vineyards. In 1980, the propery has expanded with the purchase of an estate in Côtes-du-Rhône and another in 1997 in Lirac.
