Envinate Lousas Vino De Aldea 2016
Aldea means “village” in Gallego; thus, this is Envínate’s “village wine”, produced from a combination of –minimum- 60-year-old plots located in the ancient vineyard region of Ribeira Sacra. This cuvee is made up of 90-95% Mencía with other co-planted varietals blended in. The native vines are grown on steep slopes made of slate and sit in between 400-600 meters elevation.

Purple red.

香氣/花束

The aromas are pure and wild, suggestive of shiny cherry skins, fraises des bois, crushed rubies and purple flowers.

味道

While the flavours glide across the palate, evoking dark cherry, juicy red grapes, blood orange, a hint of white pepper (typical of Mencia) and a suggestion of cool minerals.

歷史 The slate serves a great purpose, heating up during the daytime sun, helping the grapes ripen, and also imparts the minerality and intensely floral and spicy aromatics that are the trademarks of the Ribeira Sacra region’s wines. Aldea means “village” in Galician dialect. It is Envínate’s goal to produce single parcel, as well, as village wines in each region that they work. Lousa is the name for the type of slate soil that predominates in the Ribeira DO.
