土壤和氣候 The islands enjoy a very mild climate throughout the year which can however be, thanks to the influence of the trade winds, alternately very dry or rather humid. Being the Canary Islands in full Atlantic Ocean and in any case not too close to the equator the water temperature reaches 18 ° C in the months of January-February (colder period of the year), and then increase up to 28 ° C in the months of July-August-September (warmest period of the year). The rainfall regime is of the desert type, as only in some higher points the annual 200 mm is exceeded, concentrated exclusively in the winter season.
歷史 Visited by the Phoenicians in the 4th century a.C., it was new only in the 13th and 14th centuries. They were rediscovered, on the occasion of an expedition organized by Alfonso IV of Portugal, by Lancellotto Malocello in 1336 and by the French in 1402. Afterwards, disputed between Portoghesi and Castigliani, the archipelago was recognized as Spanish dominion. From the 16th century they began to decline economically, until in 1852 their ports were declared free ports. The archipelago of the Canary Islands, already an autonomous region of Spain, obtained in 1983 the status of an autonomous community envisaged by the Constitution; in the following years it considerably increased its autonomy, especially with regard to education and health.
特色菜餚 The gastronomy of the Canary Islands is particularly interesting above all because the archipelago is a meeting point for many cultures: its cuisine is very much influenced by both the European, the tropical and the African tradition! Most of the typical dishes are made up of the combination of local flavors and those coming from the continent. The ingredients of this kitchen are very simple and all of excellent quality because they originate from the unspoiled nature of the islands. The climate then makes the archipelago very fertile, guaranteeing the cultivation of numerous plantations throughout the year. The basic foods of Canarian gastronomy are: Gofio, Mojo and Papas arrugadas.
